My Top Tips
For Smooth and Soft Skin
Tip 1 Hydrate Yourself
Babies have smooth and soft skin because of the large water content in their body. As we age, the body loses its ability to retain moisture, warranting the need for constant replenishment. Drinking plenty of water will supply the body with much needed moisture and it will show on your skin.
Tip 2 Eat Healthy
It is true that you are what you eat. Eating a diet high in saturated fat and cholesterol will make your skin oily. Oily skin is more prone to skin problems and acne formation. A balanced diet with adequate intake of fruits and vegetables will help give your skin a healthy glow because of the nutrients in these foods. Antioxidants found in fruits will also keep skin damage at bay, keeping your skin soft and young-looking. Eating healthily gives the body what it needs to improve the texture and condition of your skin, do this and you will achieve smooth soft skin.
Eating blueberries daily will improve the look and texture of your skin, and fight wrinkles. Antioxidants battle free radicals, which can speed up the aging process, breakdown collagen and cause cancer and other health concerns.
Omega-3 fatty acids, like those found in salmon, mackerel and other fatty, coldwater fish, are essential for smooth, radiant skin. By adding fish to your diet twice a week, you'll be improving your health and your skin. If you hate fish, you can also get omega-3 from walnuts, flaxseed, broccoli, spinach and kidney beans.
High protein foods are also good for your skin because they encourage your body to produce enough collagen and elastin, so eat fish twice a week.
Tip 3 Moisturize
Using lotions and creams will help your get soft and smooth skin. These provide additional moisture as the skin tends to get drier with age. Make sure to choose lotions that do not have irritating chemicals such as alcohols, fragrances, parabens, and dioxanes. These can cause even more dryness and it may also be carcinogenic.
Make sure to go for lotions that have ingredients known to stimulate collagen and elastin production like cynergy TK and CoQ10. Collagen and elastin are two proteins responsible for keeping the skin firm and supple.
Phytessence wakame can also help give you soft and smooth skin by fighting of hyaluronidase, a harmful enzyme that causes skin damage. More on this below.
Tip 4 Avoid the Smoking, Stress and Sun
You can have soft, smooth skin by avoiding smoking, stress, and sun exposure. These factors are known to contribute to skin damage. UV rays from the sun can cause not only ugly skin but it can also cause skin cancer. UV rays also breakdown collagen and elastin, making your skin rough and leathery. Make sure to protect yourself by applying sunscreen when going out.
Tip 5 Exfoliate
Exfoliate your skin twice a week to take off dead skin cells and make your skin glow

My Tips, Tricks and Favourite products.
Keep it Smooth and Soft
Moisturisers
The best way to keep your skin soft, smooth and hydrated is to moisturise! During this time of year the skin tends to become dry and flaky, so being extra diligent on moisturising really pays off.
I like to use body butters as they are thicker and sink deeper into the skin. I love Sanctuaries Body Butter, this smells soooo good!!
Oils
Are one of the best products for combating dry skin. You can add a few drops to your normal moisterisers such as Jojoba or try using oil such as bio oil which offers extensive hydration and helps with scars and pigmentation!!
If I am doing this I like to spend extra time massaging and working the oil into the skin, then I finish off with a light layer of moisturiser on to seal in the product and prevent it from going on my clothes. Try doing this and you will wake up to the softest skin ever.
Exfoliating
Probably the most important step to achieving smooth skin is to exfoliate. This sloughs off dead skin cells and to reveal glowing skin underneath do this twice a week to keep skin soft. Read below for my DIY for a make it at home exfoliator that only uses two ingredients.
Baths
Having a bath 1-2 times weekly can be an effective way to boost moisture levels in the skin. Make sure the water is not too hot and stay for no longer than twenty minutes to ensure the best results. I adore adding lush products to baths to give even more moisture into the skin.
The dream time bath melt and the think pink bath bomb are my favourites. The dream bar melts to make your skin silky and smells so nice and calming, perfect before bed time. And the bath bomb smells good enough to eat.
Vaseline
Is an ultimate beauty must, I like to buy the big jars and keep it handy for when needed. During winter places like are elbows and knees can be extra dry but a layer of Vaseline can effectively overcomes this.
Lip Balm
My favourite lip balm is Palmers Coco Butter, its smells good, keeps the lips soft and also contains spf!

DIY Scrub - Make you own scrub
This is really easy, simply mix olive oil and sugar and store in a container. This creates a scrub that both removes dead skins cells and moisterises at the same time.
Be sure to mix well before using though as the oil and sugar can separate. This can also be used as a lip scrub!
