How you can get Long Bambi Eyelashes

Updated on December 29, 2013

Long Bambi Eyelashes

Long eyelashes are considered a sign of femininity in many cultures. Accordingly, some women seek to enhance their eyelash length artificially, using eyelash extensions. Permanent eyelash tints and eyelash extensions have also become popular procedures, even in fairly basic salons.

It is also possible to get eyelash transplants, which are similar in nature to hair transplantation often done on the head. Since the hair is tranplanted from the hair on the head, the new eyelashes will continue to grow like head hair and will need to be trimmed regularly.

The long lash look is always in fashion, it adds mystery, drama and opens up the eye. As well as makeup tricks there are things that we can do to improve the quality of our eyelashes, keep on reading to find out how.

Eyelashes like many other things are down to genetics, they come in different lengths and colours. However there are a few things we can do to improve the look and health of our natural lashes, so even without mascara they still look lovely and luscious.

Read on to find out my favourite ways of getting the long lash look.

Natural Remedies - Grow Longer Eyelashes with Vaseline and Olive Oil

Applying Vaseline or olive oil to the lashes before going to sleep will moisturise your eyelashes and help re-nourish and repair the damage from drying mascaras and harsh removers, this also causes eyelashes to grow longer and thicker.

If you do this you will also see an improvement in the length and thickness of your lashes. I have been doing this on and off for a couple of years and have seen impressive results. I have found it difficult to get into a routine with this, I hope to start doing this more consistently as this gives the best results.

The method that works for me is to apply Vaseline directly to the lashes and gently comb using an eyelash comb. Do this straight before going to sleep as it may irritate your eyes otherwise.

When using Vaseline, be sure to so for the plain unscented versions. The flavoured Vaseline's may irritate your eyes.

Make sure to use the plain vaseline over the flavoured or scented as this may irritate your eyes.

Vitamins for Longer Eyelashes

It has been known that taking vitamins targeted at hair growth can also cause the eyelashes to grow. Below are vitamins that are claimed to be most effective with hair growth. These vitamins also can provide other beauty or health benefits such as improved vitamin intake, stringer nails and clearer skin.

Of course you can also increase your intake of foods that contain these vitamins.

Hair follicles require B12 in order to properly replicate and if they are not able to, they cannot grow hair effectively. Can be found in eggs, fish, chicken, and milk.

Lash Serums for Longer Eyelashes

Lash Serums are becoming increasingly popular (and expensive), they work by giving eyelashes a dose of ingredients that stimulate growth and thickness when put directly onto lashes. I have to admit that this is a beauty invention I have yet to try, due to the high price and I'm a bit sceptical to whether these work. I have also heard that some of them contain a lot of chemicals.

If any of you have tried them please comment below with your thoughts. I am looking to purchase one and would love some recommendations.

Achieving the Long Lash Look with Makeup

Even after using these methods sometimes its still nice to use makeup to enhance our lashes, see my step by step guide to achiveing the long lash look.

Eye pencil-

Pencil along your upper lasher lane as close as possible to you lashes, this will create the appearance of fuller longer lashes.

Mascara-

Next just apply your favourite mascara ensuring you apply from base to tip.

Something to bear in mind when choosing the right mascara for you, before choosing identify your personal need. For example my lashes are already quite long so I like to get thickening and volumising mascaras.

White Eye pencil-

Lining your water line with a white eye pencil can make you eyes look bigger and rounder
